Is 1 month too soon to say I love you? All you need to know about it

Is 1 month too soon to say I love you

When you’re getting to know someone that you like and are attracted to, you can easily fall in love with them. Let’s be honest, falling in love is one of the best feelings in the world that people want to experience. Maintaining love perhaps can be the challenge. But falling in love can happen quite quickly specially if you two spend a lot of time together.

Because you feel how fast you’re falling in love you may also want to express those emotions to him/her by saying “I love you”. However, rushing into saying may not be the best idea until you check some things. If you’ve been dating for a month it could be a reasonable time to say “I love you”, the reasonable time depends on how much you know that person’s mind. The more you know it, the better.

In 4 weeks (one month) you can get a pretty decent overall idea of what that person is like specially if you talk and spend lots of time together. But if you don’t spend lots of time together or don’t know each other that well, perhaps it’d be better for you to wait a little longer.

You may ask “¿why does it matter that I get to know that persons mind first?”. Well the answer to that is because there’s a stage of falling in love called delusion phase, is normally when people feel butterflies. The problem with it is that you only see the good of the other person, and not any flaws.

In other words, he/she might be a terrible person or not share some of the most important values that you have, for which is best to evaluate first before taking a step further. To have the best odds in your favor for a successful relationship, you should do the following:

  1. Get to know that person the best you can
  2. Constantly try to see what could be their flaws
  3. Give your self a reasonable amount of time to get to know them
  4. Be gentle, nice, and lovable

Usually people that get divorced made a mistake in the delusion phase, they didn’t see the flaws they should’ve seen, and later on they enter a new phase which is called the disappointment phase. Where they’re more likely to separate.

We want the best for every person and every relationship, and the best way to do that is to be prudent and excited for the right things.

This post is all about answering the question “is 1 month too soon to say I love you” and all you need to know about it to have a successful relationship.

Since the answer on if it’s too soon to say I love you after one month is that it depends on how much you know that person. You should try to do the next 4 steps to be super prepared to say “I love you”.

1. Get to know that person the best you can

To begin with, you’re starting to fall in love because you’re getting to know that person more.

Dating is for that and you should try to know the person the best you can before taking further steps into the relationship. This doesn’t have to be a super long period but 1-3 months is usually a good start, depending on how much you talk.

2. Constantly try to see what could be their flaws

This is not to point them out. Is just so you’re aware of what flaws this person could have and taking them into consideration when going further into the relationship.

It doesn’t matter if they have flaws, we all have them. It just matters that they’re not considered red flags, and that you’re aware of them.

This can be hard to do because of the initial stage of the relationship you’re in. However is one of the most important things you can do to save yourself problems in the future.

Look at this step as a step you’re doing for yourself, not for them or to correct them, that can be discussed later on, but it’s for your own self awareness.

3. Give yourself a reasonable amount of time to get to know them

This may depend on your unique specific situation and context. It also depends to what stage you wanna move into. For example if you want to move into boyfriend and girlfriend 3-6 months is a reasonable time. If you want to move into engagement then perhaps 1-3 years. But it will all depend on your specific context. If you see red flags you might need a little longer.

Having prudence throughout this process will increase significantly your odds of being in a successful relationship. Prudence allows yourself more time to see enough context. Which will lead to more knowledge to take better decisions.

4. Be Gentle, Nice & Lovable

This it’s the nicest thing about being on a relationship. Wether you go further and say “I love you” or not. Being gentle, nice and lovable are going to increase significantly the odds that the other person wants you to say “I love you” ASAP.

Besides this of course there’s a lot of perks behaving this way. If you’re really into the other person, this is the way to go to make them fall in love.

Love is generated as a response from the virtuous actions of the other person. Therefore if you want to generate love in a person, you gotta help him by acting virtuously.

After doing this 4 steps you can have a lot more certainty and confidence about if it’s the right time to tell him/her that you love them.

Your chances of being well received are much higher, and your want to say it is probably very high as well.

Can you say I love you in a month?

When you want to tell someone you love them you might feel it’s weird if it’s too soon. You can say I love you in a month depending on how much you know each other and how much time you’ve spent together. For example, if you’ve barely talk for 3 months, it might not be the appropriate time yet. And in the other hand, if you’ve spent all your spare time and even more talking to each other for a month, you’re probably ready for that.

Can you love someone after a month?

Some people feel they might be wrong about thinking they love someone after a month. But the answer is: Yes you can feel love for someone after a month but that love is unlikely to be very solid (or mature) since you don’t really know that person and you’re likely to be basing your judgments on imaginary aspects more than on real ones.

This post was all about answering the question “is 1 month too soon to say I love you?” that everyone in this situation should know about to be well aware and prepared to say it in the most appropriate moment.
